recentia.fyi is a community platform for sharing first-hand consumer experiences. We are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and transparently. This policy applies to all users of recentia.fyi.

When you register or use the platform, we may collect:

• Account data: Email address (required), display name (optional)
• Location: Country or region you voluntarily select; approximate location may be inferred from IP at registration for community analytics
• Content you submit: Experiences, comments, reactions, and engagement interactions
• Activity data: Votes, bookmarks, and community engagement history
• Technical data: Browser type, device type, and standard application logs

• Authentication, account management, and security
• Delivering notifications related to your account and content activity
• Moderation and platform safety
• Improving platform features and user experience
• Aggregated, anonymised community analytics
• Internal and commercial purposes as described in Section 5

You may post under a display name, your initials only, or fully anonymously. The choice is yours at the time of submission.

We do not publicly display your email, real name, IP address, or account identifiers. However, we may retain technical logs and account records for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and moderation integrity. We may disclose user information only where required by valid legal process or applicable law.

Business names associated with submitted experiences may be partially obscured in the public view at the platform's discretion.

Your account data is accessible only to authorised platform administrators. All administrative actions are audit-logged.

recentia.fyi may use platform data — including content submitted by users — for commercial purposes. Any such use is limited to aggregated or de-identified forms and does not include personal data such as names, email addresses, or account identifiers.

If you wish to opt out of your content being used for commercial purposes, contact us at support@recentia.fyi. Requests are processed within 30 days.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations. Our primary infrastructure provider is Supabase Inc. (United States). If you make a voluntary contribution, payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. (United States); recentia.fyi does not collect or store your payment card details. Where personal data is transferred internationally, such transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or equivalent safeguards under applicable law.
• Commercial purposes: Aggregated, de-identified data only — as described in Section 5
• Legal requirements: Where required by applicable law or regulatory authority

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Submitted experiences and comments may remain on the platform after account deletion in anonymised form, unless you request full removal.

To request deletion of your account and personal data, contact support@recentia.fyi. We will process your request within 30 days.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to opt out of certain uses. EU/EEA and UK users have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR respectively.

recentia.fyi is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to register or use this platform. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will delete it.

We use browser local storage to remember your preferences (e.g. dark mode, display settings). We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that track you across other websites.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. The version number and date at the top indicate the most recent update.
